Marie Perotti
Career Technical Education Coordinator

Marie Perotti is a former industry professional that crossed over into education in 2006. Ms. Perotti’s industry career spanned over 20 years in fashion and retail merchandising with most of that time spent as a corporate buyer for a national specialty retailer. Ms. Perotti began teaching fashion merchandising and small business courses in 2006 and spent six years in the classroom. In 2012 Ms. Perotti transitioned out of the classroom and became a teacher on special assignment working on a grant for the California Department of Education facilitating a mentor teacher program specifically designed for Career Technical Education Teachers statewide to assist industry professionals who transition into teaching. The grant project earned a Golden Bell in 2013 and was recognized as a model program in California. Recognizing the need for leadership in Career Technical Education, Ms. Perotti obtained her Masters in Educational Administration and her Administrative Services Credential so that she could provide leadership to support California’s State Plan to expand Career Technical Education in California schools.

Ms. Perotti joined Coachella Valley Unified in 2014 to expand Career Technical Education. Since joining the CVUSD leadership team, Ms. Perotti has effectively added eight new Career Technical Education Programs, applied for grants bringing in over $3.0 million dollars to support programs, and fostered relationships with local businesses to partner with the district ‘s Career Technical Education programs.

Ms. Perotti believes that all students should have exposure and access to high quality Career Technical Education that is integrated with academics and aligned to 21st century high-skilled, high-wage jobs of the future.
