 Dual Language Program

• Why Dual Language? Our Dual Language Program provides students with the unique opportunity to become bilingual, and biliterate, preparing them for a globalized world.
• Program Goals: 
  • To provide valuable skills to students 
  • To develop both native language and second language skills
  • To broaden students’ understanding of the world
  • To develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English and Spanish
  • To obtain high academic achievement
  • To ensure students graduate with the State Seal of Biliteracy
• Parents as Partners: Parents and students should be committed to the program as it progresses each year.  Second language proficiency typically takes at least 5-7 years to develop. Parents can support language learning at home by fostering an environment that encourages bilingual development. This includes promoting regular use of both languages in daily conversations, reading together each day to build literacy skills, actively participating in school and community events that celebrate language and culture, and nurturing a positive attitude toward bilingualism by recognizing its benefits and celebrating progress.

  • Grade Levels: TK-6th Grade
  • Curriculum Highlights: Core Subjects taught in both languages
  • Qualified Teachers as Dual Language educators: Bilingual-Certified Educators
  • Students work toward the Seal of Biliteracy
• Who can apply? All TK/ K new students can enroll in the program, students coming from another Dual Language program, students in 2nd grade during the 1st trimester
• How do I apply? Upon enrollment, let the school site know you are interested in the Dual Language Program.
