About the Student Trustee Program

The Coachella Valley Unified School District Board of Education adopted Board Policy 9150: Student Board Members to strengthen communication and engagement between the Governing Board and the students it serves. The program provides high school students with the opportunity to participate in district governance, represent the voices of their peers, and gain firsthand experience in civic engagement and educational leadership.

Developing Future Leaders

The Student Trustee program reflects CVUSD's commitment to preparing students who are college, career, and life ready. By serving alongside the Board of Education, Student Trustees develop leadership skills, expand their understanding of public service, and help shape discussions that impact schools and the broader community.
