CVUSD Highlights
District Overview
The Coachella Valley Unified School District (CVUSD), established in 1952, serves 15,817 students across more than 1,250 square miles in the eastern Coachella Valley. The district encompasses the communities of Indio, La Quinta, Coachella, Thermal, Oasis, Mecca, Salton City, and North Shore, spanning portions of both Riverside and Imperial counties. Represented by four trustee areas, CVUSD operates 23 schools and is committed to providing equitable, high-quality education with a strong focus on academic excellence, multilingual learning, and preparing students for college, career, and life.
CVUSD operates a diverse network of schools designed to meet the academic, social-emotional, and college- and career-ready needs of its students. The district includes:
- 15 elementary schools
- 3 middle schools
- 3 high schools
- 1 continuation high school
- 1 adult school
- 13 Preschool Programs
